Primary bath is still not 💯 completed - need gl Primary bath is still not 💯 completed - need glass shower doors, some touch up drywall and paint, full restoration of the entry/WC doors, and of course, styling with fancy towels and flowers that I’m terrible at - but it’s getting there. These companies probably don’t want me to tag them since it’s not “insta-ready” but if you’ve ever lived in the house during the renovation, you know the exhaustion is there and we’re just happy to be using it. 🤷‍♀️ Let me know if you have questions or want a full before/after.

Here's a story about a fabulous neighbor who took Here's a story about a fabulous neighbor who took care of a piece of heirloom furniture for years that originally was my grandparents, and now fits perfectly in our 1872 farmhouse.

My paternal grandparents had this table in the “fancy” living room in their Memphis house. This room was in front of their house, and when we visited from my home state of Arkansas, we mostly kept to the back play room for all of our family gatherings - no one EVER went in there that I saw. Everything in that “fancy” room was clean and pristine - white carpet, white sofa, white chairs...along with this piece. My cousins, brother and I mostly avoided the room, outside of imagining fancy parties that were held when we weren't visiting and pretending like the crystal drops on a side lamp were fancy earrings (my brother did not participate in that make believe. I wish I had that lamp too, just for laughs.)

Meemaw and Pawpaw lived in that home for almost 50 years and brought the table to Arkansas when they moved a few years after he retired, around 1988.

After they passed, the table *almost* ended up in a death cemetery in my dad’s old milkbarn - out of the rain, but not out of major temperature changes, and it would have rotted for sure.

Thank you to my friend-in-history, Melody Martin, for saving this piece from the barn and it's deterioration. She reached out to me months ago and told me she had it in her house after finding it in the milk barn. I was able to grab it this weekend while I was visiting and now it's in its new home. My brother and I both agreed it looked my CB smaller than we remembered (funny how that happens) but it fits perfectly in a room the size of our living room. Swipe to see my sweet meemaw’s name under the marble top!

(Melody, outside of my brother, cousins, dad and grandparents, I will also think of you when I see this every day 😘)

When designing the kitchen, it was important to me When designing the kitchen, it was important to me that it looked pieced together over time. Now, I’m the first to admit that no one walks in here and thinks we’re in 1872, or even 1930, but I hope the mix of marble and soapstone countertops, painted and wood cabinets, a vintage wood island, and a mix of fabric and wood drawer fronts help give the kitchen some timeless character that *maybe* adds a little charm.
